I love Italian food it's classic, comforting and always a safe bet. The thing with Italian restaurants is that 90% of the time the atmosphere tends to be a bit stuffy. Macaroni Bar & Restaurant; the most recent addition to the St-Laurent strip has managed to combine good food and good times. The cuisine is Italian with a fun twist combining different flavours and techniques from other styles of cuisine everything is made to share. Some of my favorites appetizers are the tuna bombs; tuna tartare with a nice little ginger aioli and tempura that gives the dish a nice crunchy texture. The fresh arugula salad with pear is one of my top 5 salads I've had simple and fresh. They also have fresh burrata from Italy daily.
If you're gonna try the pasta and pizza dishes I strongly recommend you share since the portions are very generous.
Come Friday and Saturday night this restaurant turns into a bar where the young and beautiful come to mingle. They also offer bottle service which is pretty much the standard on the strip.
During the week you can enjoy the calmness of their beautiful outdoor patio and outside bar surrounded by small trees and forget that you are in the middle of the city.
Attentive and friendly service, this is a must to add on your checklist of places to go this summer.
