The new born, the Liseron d’Eau restaurant, is a small paradise to be discovered where we feel at ease as soon as we step in due to the warm welcome of the host and owner Mr. Hao.
Calming shades dress its walls and there is a beautiful wall-to-wall painting of a Vietnamese village on one of them, exquisite furnishings originated from the country and suspended lights softened by bamboo lampshades provide an elegant and exotic décor. For luck, little bamboo plants crown each table.
The menu offers various options including: À la Carte, the table d’hôte and the Dégustation Menu. The latter is composed of seven services and it changes every first of the month. For example, for the month of September, the Dégustation Menu starts with a tropical juice mixed with Caribbean rum or Champagne flute with current cream as an aperitif. Chicken and beef hors d’oeuvre followed while we sipped our drinks. Then, there’s a delicious fish soup Rach-Gia style from the south of Vietnam (sole fillet, vermicelli and green onions). Tofu slices stuffed with shrimps and chicken on a bed of salad and covered with oyster sauce followed. For the main course, you must choose between three types of meat: chicken, beef or seafood. Finally, the dessert, chosen by the chef, is composed of a wonderful manioc cake and a banana tartlet. They will enchant even those who do not have a sweet tooth. You can have coffee or tea with your dessert. The best, all of that for $25.95.
From the choice of main courses available on the Dégustation Menu, we opted for the pan-fried chicken fillet with peanut sauce. The presentation of the dishes is so refine and colorful that you will be under the impression that are you truly eating with your eyes. Mmmmm… We also had the calamari sautéed in spicy basil, another dish that will distinguish itself with its look and fresh aroma. But, we strongly recommend the pan-fried Duck magret with exotic fruits. An extraordinary out of the ordinary dish!
For this month of October, on the Dégustation Menu, you will have the choice between the "Hotpot of crispy rice with chicken and shrimp",
the "Salmon with curry, lemongrass & shallots"
and some "Young lamb’s cutlets witn lychee sauce".
The light cuisine of this Vietnamese restaurant from the South Shore takes you away from the numerous fry dishes and brings you closer to a healthy menu with its raw salad (pork and shrimps).
At lunchtime, you may bring your clients and at night, your family. All occasions are suited for a night at Liseron d’Eau, the true Vietnam village in Quebec. |
