"Atmosphere of a real cabin ..."
Atmosphere of a real sugar shack! Very disappointing. Too much noise ... table pasted one over the other ... too many people in this small space ... poor service ... menu 90% of chicken dishes ... Waste of money!! I have more confidence in their QDG 3.5 Stars !!!!!

"Very Americanized dishes, which ..."
Very Americanized dishes that do not have much to do with real Mexican food. Among the other has the pescado Veracruzana. You eat in quantity, but in taste. The guacamole is prepared at the table and is really worth.

I love this Mexican Restaurant!! The ambience is fun and entertaining. The Mariachi band adds to the authenticity and charm of the restaurant, along with the handmade tortillas. I would eat there every day if possible......

Nice ambiance and deco, feels like Mexico especially when the mariachis play...it can get noisy, the service is nice and courteous. The food is average and pricey…Tamales in the south shore is superior is food and prices but is not as lively and loud as Casa Mateo.

True mexican restaurant! Food is pretty good, I guess it doesn't really stand out from all of the other mexican food I've had but it was still good. It's in the heart of the old montreal, so it's very cute at night, you can see the horse carriages pass by, it's quite charming.

Authentic cuisine (except desserts). Atmosphere at its best on Friday or Saturday night. The lunch menu lacks variety (no choice spicy!) But very affordable. Only the nachos and salsa (a will!) Are worth a detour.
