"Trying Something New"
My husband and I went out on a limb and decided to try Indian food for the first time. Our hotel recommended that we try a restaurant called dévi. When we walked into the place we were astounded at the beautiful decor and the many Indian artefacts gathered in the restaurant. The maitre d' greeted us at the door and led us to a nice table overlooking Crescent Street. When our waiter arrived, we told him that we were new to Indian food and would need some help with our order. He was very helpful, immediately setting our minds at ease. He suggested various selections that sounded great; spicier dishes for my husband and milder ones for me. We started off with appetizers, which consisted of samosas and crab cakes; they were delicious. For our entrees we ordered the mouth watering buttered chicken and the succulent lamb with sautéed spinach and spices. The Naan with cheese topped off the meal nicely, but left us with little room for dessert. Everything was very tasty, the service was great, and we have now become fans of Indian food. Many thanks to dévi for the great introduction to Indian food, we will definitely be back again soon.
